On a brisk October morning in Lake George, Colorado just as the sun began to peek over the mountains, we gathered at the trailhead with quiet anticipation and electricity in the air. The pines stood tall, the alpine lake rested still beneath a thin layer of fog, and Jazmine and Charlie arrived with backpacks strapped and their little one in tow—ready to marry each other in the middle of the mountains.

We set off together to find the perfect tucked-away spot to change, share a private first look, and exchange handwritten vows beneath the trees. What followed felt less like a ceremony and more like a scene from a romcom—unfiltered joy, uncontrollable laughter, and the kind of love that moves freely and without performance as they wandered the terrain like two teenagers completely wrapped up in each other.
Traveling all the way from Lexington, Kentucky this day was months in the making—filled with planning, dreaming, and sending location options back and forth in search of the place that felt right. And it did not disappoint. What began as a crisp, teeth-chattering morning—fog rolling over the lake, a family of deer darting ahead on the trail—slowly transformed into a sun-soaked, electric day that carried its warmth well into the night.

Jazmine and Charlie trusted me to simply bear witness—to be a fly on the wall during one of the most intimate days of their lives. That trust gave me the freedom to create images that now serve as an everlasting keepsake of where their love was solidified. The views were breathtaking, but the way they loved each other—childlike, gentle, unguarded—made my job effortlessly easy. Some love doesn’t need direction. It just needs space.
With the biggest grin on my face—and constantly trying to catch my breath thanks to the thin mountain air and the way these two took it away—I happily chased them across the mountains, and later into their Airbnb for an intimate “night-of” session. What unfolded there was stripped-down, honest, and deeply human. No audience. No expectations. Just the two of them, holding each other in the quiet aftermath of a day that changed everything.

Moments like these aren’t about grand gestures or perfect timelines. They’re about honoring love exactly as it shows up—real, raw, and wildly ordinary—because the ordinary deserves to be remembered.
If you’re dreaming of an adventure elopement that feels true to who you are—one that allows space for intimacy, presence, and the freedom to experience your day rather than perform it—I’d be honored to help you tell your story.
